CEO

I am a servant of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He saved me in 2019, and I owe everything to Him. He is the way, the truth, and the life; no-one comes to the Father but through Him.

My family has deep roots in the Charlottesville area where I was born and raised. My lovely wife, Emily, and I live in White Hall with my son Lincoln. I love spending time with my family, snowboarding, mountain biking, working on my homestead, hiking and camping in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and serving in my local church.

I started doing HVAC work in 1999 for Mack Morris Heating and Air Conditioning, where I learned how to install ductwork and equipment in new construction and finished homes. I moved to Colorado in 2002 to snowboard. While there, I worked at a plumbing and heating service company where I learned to work on boilers, build and wire boiler controls, and also received training in bidding and selling jobs. Upon returning to Charlottesville, I went back to work for Mack Morris as a service technician. I learned to diagnose and repair air conditioners, heat pumps, and oil and gas furnaces. During my time at Mack Morris, I developed the service method and philosophy that we still use today. After leaving Mack Morris to finish building my home, I founded David Ashcom Heating & Cooling in 2007.

My business philosophy has always been to follow the path of honesty and integrity even when it is not the easy or profitable way. I am passionate about making you comfortable in your home and making your equipment last as long as possible. I love to fix what is broken and improve what is less than ideal. I get a lot of fulfillment from leading and training my team and helping them to become all they can be so that you get the best possible service at all times.

I started working part time while I was still in school and rose through the ranks to become a warehouse manager and worked with both customers and clients before leaving the warehouse industry in pursuit of other options.

I found David Ashcom while looking into jobs that would help people and make a positive impact. I started as a trainee and soon became an installer, then moved to maintenance and service as a technician. I have worked for many bosses over the years, but I have never felt more at home than I do here.

I enjoy speaking with our customers and seeing how they’ve been. It feels good seeing the smiles on their faces when they see us coming.

I love being a part of this company and working with all the guys. Every single one of them are good people and between them and our customers everyone makes this an enjoyable, satisfying job that I find very rewarding.

Installer / Service Tech

I am a native to Virginia, calling Nellysford home for 10 years now.  I have lived all over the state and this area was the place I wanted to put down roots and start a family.  My family is what drives me to excel and makes me be a better person.

I attended Old Dominion University with aspirations of becoming a teacher. I found out I was passionate about history, not so much teaching it.  I started my professional career in food service and worked in restaurants around the area for 10 years before deciding that I needed to make a change to the benefit of not just myself, but for my family as well.

I found David Ashcom Heating & Cooling on a job ad website, and thought I would give HVAC a shot.  I had no experience in this field and I knew it would be a challenge.  This company gave me a chance when many others wouldn’t, and I will be forever grateful for the guidance and experience I have gained from not only David, but from all of the guys here at David Ashcom Heating & Cooling.

This company has not just given me a job that I enjoy waking up and coming to everyday, but a career that I can be proud of.
