David Ashcom

I am a servant of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, He changed my heart and I owe everything to Him. I was born and raised in Charlottesville and am the proud father of my son Lincoln. In our free time, we love to skateboard, snowboard, and go hiking and camping in the Blue Ridge Mountains. In addition, I have a heart for serving my community and missions.

I got into HVAC in 1999, as a helper installing ductwork. I learned quickly and was running my own crew within 6 months. For the next two years, I installed ductwork and equipment in new construction and finished homes. In 2002, I moved to Colorado to snowboard, while there I worked at a plumbing and heating service company. 

I learned to work on boilers, build and wire boiler controls, and also received training in bidding and selling jobs. Upon returning to Charlottesville, in 2003, I took a position as a service technician with the same company I worked at previously. 

There I learned to diagnose and repair air-conditioners, heat pumps, oil, and gas furnaces. During this time, I developed the service method and philosophy that we still use today. 

In 2006, I left my job to finish building my home and founded David Ashcom Heating & Cooling in 2007.

I am passionate about making you comfortable in your home and making your equipment last as long as possible. I love to fix what is broken and improve what is less than ideal. I get a lot of fulfillment from leading my team, training them, and helping them to become all they can be so that you get the best possible service at all times.

My business philosophy has always been to follow the path of honesty and integrity even when it is not the easy or profitable way. I have found that if you treat everyone the way you would like your parents to be treated, everything will work out in the end.

A New England native, I moved to Charlottesville in 2014. In my free time, I enjoy racing my mountain bike, hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and working on my farm in Western Albemarle County. I started my HVAC career with David Ashcom Heating & Cooling in 2015. 

My mechanical aptitude, curiosity, and troubleshooting instincts made me a perfect fit for this industry. The most fulfilling part of my job is seeing the joy and gratitude on a customer's face when I fix their AC on the hottest day of the year. I appreciate the positive work environment and high morale that is maintained at David Ashcom Heating & Cooling. 

We really are a team, and everyone is willing to do whatever is need to provide our customers with a high level of service.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, I moved to Charlottesville in 2017 to pursue a more quiet and peaceful life for my family. I am a husband and the father of 3 daughters and one son. My greatest joy in life comes from spending quality time with them. Among other things, we like to go bowling and watch movies together. 

My professional background was in customer service in the NYS Attorney General’s office. I joined the David Ashcom Heating & Cooling team in 2017 and was able to use my customer service experience in new ways. 

I am a people person, so I like building lasting relationships by making our customers more comfortable in their homes. I enjoy being part of the David Ashcom team because it's not just a team, it’s more like a family. I also like being part of a team that is always trying to be better through a daily pursuit of excellence.

Born and raised in Richmond Virginia, moved to Charlottesville 3 years ago. I love spending time with my family, taking my dog to the park, dabbling in the stock market, and yes, even playing some video games when I get the chance.
